Used this on my LP studio satin standard conversion project and it came out beautifully!! Highly recommend if you want a heavy checking look! Mirror gloss end result and the adjustable spray tip is very useful!

I had a customer come in wanting a newer american vintage reissue stratocaster relic’d. the finish on those is lacquer, but was unresponsive to the cold checking process we use and i did t want to go with the canned air method because i don’t like the way it looks.

I prepped the body to accept new finish by sanding the entire surface with 800 grit. then, i gave it 3 light coats of lac r shot and let it dry for a few weeks. after that, it was sanded and buffed and went through about 10-15 cold checking cycles to get the final look.

We rubbed the entire guitar down with stain to accentuate the checking and give some accents to the dings we put in there before reassembling with aged hardware.

Overall i’m really happy with how it turned out! Thanks GluBoost!
